23 New Bergen County Coronavirus Cases; Town By Town Breakdown

The New Jersey Department of Health is reporting 23 new cases of the coronavirus in Bergen County on Tuesday.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — The New Jersey Department of Health is reporting 23 new positive coronavirus cases in Bergen County as of 1 p.m. on Tuesday.

The county has now cleared 20,000 cases in total, with the number reaching 20,052 as of Tuesday. An additional 1,764 deaths have been confirmed, down one from yesterday, with 268 probable deaths, according to the NJDOH.

Across the state, the NJDOH reports 177,256 total coronavirus cases, 13,763 confirmed deaths and 1,974 probable deaths.

These new numbers are reported as Gov. Phil Murphy expanded coronavirus travel quarantine orders to 31 states.

Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco announced the latest municiaplity case totals on his Facebook page over the weekend.

Mobile coronavirus testing continues this week in the county, but excessive heat postponed testing in Teaneck to Wednesday.

Mahwah is the latest school to show progress in their planning for the fall semester, though no official plans have been released.

The official reopening plan will be presented at an Aug. 5 Board of Education meeting, district officials said.
