37 Ridgewood Street Signs Go Missing
Officials offering violators amnesty until Sept. 15.

Nearly 40 Ridgewood street signs have gone missing from village roadways, officials said.
Street signs seem to go missing every year about around the time college begins, said village Manager Roberta Sonenfeld.
It isn’t just the signs that are missing, Sonenfeld said. The poles to which the signs are attached to are also missing.

Sonenfeld said that the missing signs could hinder first responders’ ability to respond to emergency calls.
“This is a criminal offense and if we find anyone in possession of Ridgewood street signs, we will prosecute them,” Sonenfeld said.
