$4,000 Worth Of Clothes Left Outside Ridgewood Home Stolen: Police

A Ridgewood reported someone stole his wallet while he was sleeping on a train, police said.

On Aug. 20, a Ridgewood resident reported that an unidentified person had made fraudulent purchases using his credit card. The matter is being investigated by the detective bureau.

On Aug. 21, while on DUI patrol subsequent to observing a motor vehicle violation, Sgt. Brian Pullman stopped a vehicle operated by Alejandro Melendez, 24 of Paterson.

After failing a field sobriety test, Melendez was arrested and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, failure to provide a breath sample, operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license, and several other motor vehicle violations pending an appearance in the Ridgewood Municipal Court.

On Aug. 22, a resident reported that someone had removed his wallet from his pocket after he had fallen asleep while traveling on a New Jersey Transit Train. The theft has been reported to the New Jersey Transit Police Department.

On Aug. 24, a Heights Road resident reported that sometime between Aug. 18 and Aug. 24, someone had removed clothing valued at approximately $4,000 from outside of his/her home where it had been delivered by a cleaning service. The matter is being investigated by the detective bureau.

On Aug. 24, an East side resident reported that someone had made fraudulent charges on his/her Verizon account. Additionally, the person reported learning that an AT&T account had also been opened utilizing his/her personal information. The matter is being investigated by the detective bureau.
