5 Charged With Burglary After Entering Unlocked Glen Rock Cars
Five men from Newark are facing multiple charges after police say they entered several vehicles on Woodvale Road and Fieldmere Road.
GLEN ROCK, NJ — Five Newark men are charged with burglary and other crimes after entering "several" unlocked vehicles in Glen Rock, police said.
"An alert resident" noticed a group attempting to enter vehicles in residents’ driveways in the area of Woodvale Road on Friday morning at 4:48 a.m., police said.
After they were notified, three members of the Glen Rock Police Department apprehended five people, impounding one vehicle in the process, police said.

Police say that isn't the only car the group entered.
"Further investigation revealed evidence that the actors entered several vehicles on Woodvale Road and Fieldmere Road. Proceeds from the thefts were found in the vehicle they were operating and on their persons," police said.

Also found in the car was a "high-capacity" handgun magazine and ammunition. However, no gun was recovered during a search of the car and surrounding area.
The five Newark residents, men ages 18, 19 and 20, were arrested and transported to police headquarters. They are charged with burglary, theft, possession of burglary tools and possession of a high-capacity handgun magazine.
One 20-year-old was also charged with hindering apprehension by providing false information to law enforcement, police said.
An investigation determined that every vehicle the group was able to enter had been left unlocked, according to police.
The five men are scheduled to appear in court on May 21.
