$7K Worth Of Money, Property Stolen From Ridgewood Gym Locker: Police
Police are also investigating several incidents of identity theft.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — About $7,000 in cash and property was stolen from a locked locker at a South Broad Street gym Aug. 9, police said.
Here is a summary of police activity in the village earlier this month.
- On Aug. 7, a South Irving Street resident reported receiving a harassing voicemail on her home phone, police said. The caller left a threatening and harassing statement that caused alarm.
- A business located at 193 East Ridgewood Ave. reported damage occurred to a rear door of the business during the evening hours Aug. 7. The amount of damage is unknown at this time.
- On Aug. 8, Officer Zachary Knudsen investigated a theft of a cell phone in the past. The victim reported an iPhone 6S was stolen from a park bench in Van Neste Square while the phone was left unattended, police said. The phone was valued at $650.
- Patrolman Darin Thomas responded to a Jefferson Street residence to investigate a theft on Aug. 8. The victim reported while hosting a house party at his residence he believes a guest stole his Apple iPhone 7 from within the residence, police said. The value of the cell phone is unknown at this time.
- On Aug. 8, a Closter resident reported criminal mischief occurred in the past to a motor vehicle that was parked in Ridgewood on Aug. 5, police said. The vehicle was reported to have been keyed along the left side and hood of the vehicle, police said. The amount of damage is unknown at this time.
- On Aug. 10, a business located on South Broad Street reported a shoplifting had just occurred and the actor fled from the business. The manager provided a description of the actor and Patrolman Jack Knudsen located an individual matching the description, police said. After an investigation, Knudsen then arrested the 46-year-old male from Wyckoff for shoplifting, police said; the arrestee was transported to Ridgewood Police headquarters and released on a complaint summons with a pending court date.
- A Village of Ridgewood maintenance employee discovered criminal mischief occurred on Aug. 10, in a bathroom at the Lester Stable, police said. The amount of damage is unknown at this time.
- An East Glen Avenue resident responded to Ridgewood Police headquarters to report identity theft in the past. The victim reported on Friday discovering that an unknown person had changed the mailing address on a credit card, police said. The credit card company was notified and is investigating the incident.
- On Saturday, a Sterling Place resident responded to Ridgewood Police headquarters to report identity theft. The victim reported discovering fraudulent charges on his credit card; the victim also reported a package from one of the fraudulent charges was delivered to his residence, police said. The Ridgewood Police Detective Bureau is investigating the incident.
- A Kemah Road resident responded to Ridgewood Police headquarters on Monday to report a fraud and theft, police said. The victim reported an unknown person had forged and deposited a check using the victim’s account, police said. The bank is investigating the incident at this time.
