Arrest Made In Fatal Ridgewood Hit-And-Run: Prosecutor
Bergen County mailman Raphael Ramos, 47, of Midland Park, was arrested Saturday, authorities said.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — An arrest was made in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash Monday that killed a 54-year-old Hawthorne man, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office stated in a news release.
Raphael Ramos, 47, from Midland Park, who works as a mailman, was charged with leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle collision, said acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo. (See related: Man Killed In Ridgewood Hit-And-Run ID'd, Suspect Wanted: Cops)
Edward Rao was hit in Ridgewood Monday night at about 7:20 p.m. across the street from Puzo's Family Restaurant near Haruo Noor Salon, authorities previously said. He was taken to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center, but died of his injuries, they said.

After reviewing evidence recovered at the scene and surveillance video from the area indicated that the vehicle that his Rao was a dark-colored, 2002-2009 Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV, Calo said. The SUV continuing traveling westbound on West Ridgewood Avenue, toward Midland Park, following the collision, authorities said.
Ramos was arrested Saturday in Midland Park, charged, and taken to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack Monday, Calo said.
