RIDGEWOOD, N.J. — The suspicious package that authorities investigated at the Ridgewood Train Station turned out to be an unattended pair of shoes with what appeared to be a wire underneath them, NJ Transit officials said.

A NJ Transit police officer spotted the shoes and alleged wire under a bench, thought it looked like a suspicious package, and called it in, said Lisa Torbic, an NJ Transit spokesperson.

The 30 people at the station were evacuated. K-9 units from the NJ Transit Police Department and Bergen County Sheriff's Office, along with the Ridgewood Police Department responded to the train station.
