NJ Man Charged With Sex Crimes Against Child After Guidance Counselor's Report, Officials Say

A Belleville man was arrested for sex crimes against a child in Bergen County after a guidance counselor went to police, a complaint says.

NORTH ARLINGTON, NJ — A Belleville man has been arrested for sex crimes again a child after a high school guidance counselor in Bergen County made a report to police, prosecutors said.

Ahmed A. Rady, 36, of Belleville was arrested Thursday on charges of aggravated criminal sexual contact, said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.

A police complaint filed in the case says that last week, a high school guidance counselor in North Arlington reported sexual abuse to the police in that town.

Following the report, "all parties" were taken to the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office to give statements to the Special Victims Unit on video.

According to the complaint, Rady committed sexual contact by "intentionally rubbing" the victim's private body parts "for the purpose of degrading or humiliating the victim or to sexually arouse or sexually gratify" himself.

The crimes occurred some time between March 23, 2024 and March 23, 2025, the complaint says.

Rady was charged Thursday with one count of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child and two counts of third-degree aggravated criminal sexual contact, prosecutors said.

He was taken to the Bergen County Jail and made a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court, prosecutors said. He was then released to await further court action.
