Bergen County Cop Has Been Suspended After His Arrest
A police officer who was arrested on Tuesday has been suspended, a town official said.

Cory J. Havens of Vauxhall was charged last week with false swearing, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.
Prosecutors said that the Prosecutor’s Office Confidential Investigations Unit was conducting an administrative investigation on Tuesday that was referred to them by the Palisades Park Police Department.

Havens made false statements to detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office while under oath, prosecutors said.
Havens was arrested in Hackensack on Tuesday and charged with fourth-degree false swearing.

He was released to await a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, prosecutors said.
Palisades Park Police Director Michael Gardner confirmed for Patch on Monday that Havens has been suspended without pay.
"Further action will be taken following the conclusion of the court proceedings," Gardner said.
