Bergen County Rocked By Earthquake, OEM And Residents Respond

'Bergen County was impacted,' said the county OEM, giving further instructions.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Much of North Jersey felt some shaking on Friday morning when a 4.8 magnitude earthquake rocked the area around 10:30 a.m.

The earthquake was detected with an epicenter seven kilometers north northeast of Whitehouse Station in New Jersey, according to the United States Geological Survey, which monitors earthquakes.

Around 11 a.m., Bergen County's Office of Emergency Management posted, "Please use 911 if you need to report an injury or serious damage. No further action is needed at this time."
