This Bergen County Town Is The Best Place To Be A Kid In N.J.

Time magazine says this place is a 'kid's dream' to live.

A Bergen County municipality has made Time magazine’s list of the ”Best Places to Be a Kid” list.

Tenafly was named number five on the list, being described as ”a kid’s dream.”

The municipality’s less-than 20-mile proximity to New York City gives kids access to “some of the best entertainment and educational activities in the country,” the magazine said.

The School of Rock music program, a comprehensive parks and recreational program “with loads of sports options” and the Tenafly Nature Center are all positive contributors to the ranking.

“To top it off, Tenafly’s schools are consistently ranked at the top in the state,” the article states.

Only towns where the population of people younger than 19 was greater than 30 percent, which is higher than the national average. Educational outcomes, safety, child obesity rates, and proximity to libraries, museums, movie theaters, aquariums, and zoos. Only one municipality per state was ranked.
