B.F. Students Talk Politics with Senator Menendez in Washington

Over 200 students met with the Democratic senator at the Capitol on Thursday

It wasn't your typical field trip. Over 200 7th grade students from B.F. spoke to U.S. Senator Robert Menedez (D-NJ) on the steps of the Capitol in our nation's capital on Thursday. The students, described by the senator as "inquisitive," asked Menendez of his life story, what it's like to be a member of Congress, and the inner-workings of the federal government.

"They asked great questions," Menendez said of the Ridgewood students.

"That level of engagement and desire to understand the world around them will benefit all of us in just a few years. To meet with such a sharp and curious group of young people really leaves you feeling optimistic about the future."
