Charlotte Samuels Honored at Ridgewood's Village Council Meeting Wednesday
The 16-year-old is the youngest person to successfully complete the Triple Crown of open-water swimming.

Charlotte Samuels, who became the youngest person to complete the Triple Crown of open-water swimming, was honored by the Ridgewood Village Council at their Wednesday night meeting.
Ridgewood Mayor Paul Aronsohn called the accomplishment “an extraordinary moment for [the] community” as he awarded the 16-year-old.
Samuels made history in September by completing the Triple Crown of open-water swimming and being the youngest person to do so after successfully swimming across the English Channel after 20 hours, 44 minutes and 27 seconds. Samuels had previously circumnavigated Manhattan in July and swam the Catalina Channel off California’s coast in August.
