Citizens For Swimming Launches 47th Summer at Graydon

Citizens For Swimming brings kids from Paterson to Graydon Pool in Ridgewood every Aug. for water fun + learn-to-swim with YMCA instructors

Citizens For Swimming, founded in 1968, is a program that has brought children from Paterson to Graydon Pool in Ridgewood every August for the last 47 years.

Kids ages 3-13 enjoy summer fun in the water and receive daily swim instruction provided by the Ridgewood YMCA.

The Citizens For Swimming organization (C4S) covers the cost of pool admission and bus expenses for the children and their teachers and provides bathing suits, beach towels, goggles, and toys to the children.

C4S is seeking donations of NEW swimsuits, new or used beach towels and beach toys, and cash. The group also needs volunteers to play with our guests from Paterson and make them feel welcome. Youth may volunteer, and we are happy to provide letters certifying your community service hours.

At the end of the program, we celebrate with a picnic lunch for our swimmers, donors, volunteers, and Village officials. We are seeking donations of food and drinks for this picnic from Ridgewood businesses. Please contact c4s.usr@gmail.com.
