Council Approves $330K Bond For Ridgewood Train Station Redesign
38 parking spaces will be added to the parking lot, 15 trees will be removed, and 14 new trees will be planted.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — The Village Council Wednesday night approved bonding $330,000 to expand and reconfigure the parking lot at the train station.
Thirty-eight parking spaces will be added to the lot at the cost of some green space at the Garber Square parking lot, which extends to the west and south of the station. There is a 33-foot wide grassy island at its center with a walking path, trees, and benches.
A lot of that park will be lost to the extra parking spaces. However, a small grassy island with a bench and 11 streetlights will be added.

Fifteen trees, which the village arborist deemed to be in poor health, will be removed. Eleven red oaks will be planted to replace them.
Forty-four parking spaces will be reconfigured to accommodate compact cars. They will be nine feet wide by 16 feet deep. The parking spaces surrounding the center island will be nine-by-18 feet.
