Enrollment Now Open For Bergen County Citizen's Police Academy

Sheriff Michael Saudino announces county residents can sign up for an inside look at the work of law enforcement.

County residents ages 18 and older can now sign up for the Bergen County Sheriff's Office Citizen's Police Academy, Sheriff Michael Saudino said.

The nine-week course is designed to teach participants about the role of the Sheriff's Office and the work of law enforcement.  Participants will learn about a range of areas including homeland security, gang violence awareness, homicide investigations, K-9 patrols and forensics, according to a press release from the sheriff.

“As a career law enforcement official, my greatest priority is protecting the safety of our citizens,” Saudino said in the release.  “Our popular Citizen’s Police Academy gives residents a better understanding of the important work police do in their communities and how it keeps them safe every day.”
