Unitarian Society of Ridgewood's Social Responsibilities Council launches a year-long study and action program on restoring the balance between capitalism and democracy in our society with a kickoff event Friday, Sept. 21 at 7:30 pm.
Leaders of USR groups will present study and action plans for Fall 2012 and Spring 2013 on topics ranging from Anti-Racism, Peace and Justice, Education Justice, and Reproductive Justice to Environmental Action, Africa, Hunger and Homelessness, and Living the Welcoming.
Special guest Alan Lichtenstein of the Poverty Research Institute at Legal Services of New Jersey will give a talk on "Poverty in New Jersey."
