Father's Day Forecast: Washout Predicted In North Jersey

Sunday is Father’s Day, but unfortunately it doesn’t look like dad will be getting the gift of good weather.

Forecasters are predicting rain, and lots of it. The Weather Channel is calling for ”heavy” thunderstorms on Sunday in North Jersey.

The Weather Channel is predicting locally heavy rainfall of an inch or more.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 57.

Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 77. Chance of precipitation is 10 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Saturday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. Showers developing later at night.

Sunday: Thunderstorms likely. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Cloudy, with a high near 80. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent.

Sunday Night: Clear to partly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
