Garrett Responds To Gottheimer's Assertion He Is 'Weak' On Terrorism

GLEN ROCK, N.J. — Congressman Scott Garrett's camp has responded to his challenger's assertions that he is "weak" on fighting terrorism.
The United Pilots union endorsed Democratic challenger Josh Gottheimer for election in this year's 5th Congressional District race.
Sarah Neibart, Garrett's campaign manager, said that Gottheimer's "false attacks... are nothing but a sloppy attempt to tell a story that simply isn't true."

Garrett has supported several national security and anti-terrorism bills, including the Keeping Our Travelers Safe and Secure Act and the National Strategy to Combat Terrorist Travel Act of 2016.
Garrett was also "a leading voice" against the nuclear deal with Iran, Neibart said, "one of the most devious state sponsors of terrorism on the planet — despite support from Gottheimer's friends in the Democrat establishment like Hillary Clinton and her cronies."
