Gas Main Break Closes Lanes Of Bergen County Highway Until Sunday: Officials
All northbound lanes of a major Bergen County highway are closed until Sunday due to a gas main break.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — All northbound lanes of a highway in Bergen County were closed Saturday due to a gas main leak, said the state Department of Transportation and local police.
The state's 511nj website reported before 6 a.m. that a gas main break on Route 120/Paterson Plank Road had closed all northbound lanes in East Rutherford, in the vicinity of Gotham Parkway.
The East Rutherford police said the closure will remain in place until at least Sunday.

"Due to emergency work being done by PSEG Gas, Route 120 North (Paterson Plank Rd) will be closed to all traffic from Washington Avenue to Gotham Parkway until Sunday," they wrote. "Please plan an alternate route and follow all posted detours. NJ Transit Bus Service has been detoured as well. Please see their website for updated bus stop information."
The road runs behind the MetLife Stadium area and is commonly used as a shortcut between the heavily traveled Route 17 and Route 3.

A gas main break also occurred in the area in February.
