Reamy was due to retire Aug. 31. Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli charged him Aug. 5 with five counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He allegedly exchanged sexually explicit text messages with 14- and 17-year-old girls.
Reamy was suspended from the department Aug. 6. He was released on $250,000 bail last week, but is under house arrest and must wear a GPS-enabled ankle bracelet. He initially return to his Fair Lawn home, but was supposed to move into a relative’s home. He may leave only to visit his attorney or doctor and must notify the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department in advance.
