Glen Rock Business Owner Victim Of PSE&G Scam: Police
A business owner sent the money after being told his gas and electric would be shut off immediately if he did not pay, police said.

GLEN ROCK, NJ — A borough business owner was swindled out of more than $800, the result of a PSE&G scam, police report.
The owner received a phone call Saturday at 2:12 p.m. from someone falsely claiming to represent PSE&G, said Chief Dean Ackermann. The business owner was advised that if he did not make a payment of $861.17 to the utility, the business' gas and electric would be discontinued immediately, Ackermann said.
The owner was told to purchase two Green Dot MoneyPak cards to make the payment, which he did and provided the car verification numbers to the caller, Ackermann said.
