Glen Rock High School Ranked In Top 3 Of Best High Schools List

New Jersey Monthly has released a new ranking of the best public high schools in New Jersey.

GLEN ROCK, NJ — The borough high school has been ranked the second best high school in New Jersey by New Jersey Monthly magazine.

Glen Rock has a student-to-faculty ratio of 9:1 and 25 Advanced Placement subjects offered. Sixty-five percent of 11th- and 12th-graders are taking at least one Advanced Placement class. More than half of students who took an Advanced Placement exam, 54 percent, scored at least a three on the test.

The vast majority of students, 87 and 93 percent, score at least 530 and 480 on the math and reading and writing sections of the SAT, respectively.

To arrive at the rankings, NJ Monthly looked at the state Department of Education's most recent New Jersey School Performance Reports. Only public high schools were included in the rankings. (You can read more about the methodology here.)

New Jersey Monthly also published graduation rates and the percentages of students enrolled in college 16 months after high school.

Topping the list was McNair in Jersey City, a magnet school. After that, you'll see a mix of schools that haven't always appeared at the top of these lists (Ramapo, Haddonfield, and West Morris Central).
