Glen Rock Law Firm Catches $19K Attempted Fraud

Someone tried impersonating one of the firm's partners online to try and get the transaction to go through.

GLEN ROCK, NJ — Employees of a borough law firm thwarted an attempted $19,000 fraudulent transaction recently, police said.

The managing partner of a Harristown Road law firm reported the attempted $19,600 fraud Tuesday, said Chief Dean Ackermann.

Someone attempted to impersonate one of the firm's partners online in order to facilitate the transaction, Ackermann said.

The firm's "internal business practices thwarted the crime," the chief said.

The Glen Rock detectives are investigating the matter.
