The New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police has again accredited the Glen Rock Police Department.

GLEN ROCK, NJ — The New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police has again accredited the Glen Rock Police Department.

After first being accredited in 2014, recently, the department announced, they successfully achieved re-accreditation.

The New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police through its New Jersey Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission is the legitimate authority and accreditation agency for law enforcement in the State of New Jersey. Accreditation is a progressive way of assisting law enforcement agencies to improve their overall performance.

Re-accreditation is a voluntary statewide program review of policies and procedures that designed to demonstrate the department is operating efficiently through best practices.

It is an ongoing process that is re-examined by assessors from NJSACOP every three years.

In the best case scenario, re-accreditation results in greater accountability within the agency, reduced risk and liability exposure, stronger defense against civil lawsuits, increased community advocacy and more confidence in the agency’s ability to operate efficiently and respond to the community.
