Glen Rock Police Report Increased Sightings Of Coyotes And Foxes

Police urge residents to stay away from wild animals.

The Glen Rock Police Department has received reports of coyote and fox sightings from residents.

The sightings have occurred mostly at night, police said.

Coyote and fox sightings are common in the borough, according to authorities, and their populations has always been “thriving.’

Unless the animals appear sick or injured, Tyco Animal Control, the borough’s animal control service, cannot interfere with them.

Residents should be cautions and never attempt to touch or feed them, police said.

Residents should keep the lids on garbage cans, not leave garbage outside, and do not leave small pets unattended. Coyotes have been known to attack caged rabbits, cats, and small dogs, authorities said.

Police officers will contact animal control officers if there is a sick or injured animal found.
