Glen Rock Police Use Narcan To Revive Driver Of Crashed Cadillac

BREAKING: The 34-year-old man was lying in the middle of Valley Road when police found him.

GLEN ROCK, NJ — Police used Narcan to revive a man they found lying the street after he crashed a Cadillac on Valley Road Friday morning.

Police resopnded to a 911 call shortly before 5:30 a.m. about a man lying in the middle of Valley Road between Austin Place and Sterling Place, said Chief Dean Ackermann.

Three responding police officers determined that the 34-year-old Pompton Plains man was overdosing on heroin and administered two doses of Narcan, Ackermann said.

Police found the man's 2000 Cadillac Eldorado blocking a driveway about 50 feet from where he was found, the chief said. Police discovered drug paraphernalia associated with IV drug use and hypodermic needles inside the vehicle, he said.

The vehicle hit a tree near the Glen Avenue senior citizen's complex a block away, Ackermann said.

The man was taken to Valley Hospital in Ridgewood where a recovery specialist was dispatched, the chief said.
