Josh Gottheimer Will Outline His Plan For Economic Growth Wednesday
The 5th District Democrat is trying to unseat seven-time incumbent Scott Garrett.

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. — Josh Gottheimer will outline his comprehensive plan to spur economic growth and create jobs in New Jersey's 5th Congressional District Wednesday.
Gottheimer, a former Microsoft executive and speechwriter for President Bill Clinton, is running against seven-term Republican incumbent Rep. Scott Garrett in this year's district election. He is a "fiscally conservative and socially progressive" Democrat, from Wyckoff.
Gottheimer will outline his tax cut and growth plan at the Ridgewood Cycle Shop at 11 a.m.

Gottheimer will be joined by local business leaders at Ridgewood Cycle Shop in Ridgewood on Wednesday to present his comprehensive plan to spur economic growth and create good-paying jobs for 5th District families.
Three statewide organizations: The National Association of Realtors, the New Jersey State Policemen's Benevolent Association, and the New Jersey FMBA, the union representing more than 5,000 firefighters, EMTs and dispatchers, have already endorsed Gottheimer over Garrett.

Garrett has been under attack over his anti-gay positions, told a group of loyalists that he was "optimistic about his reelection," Politico reported.
The 5th District is composed of municipalities in Bergen, Sussex, Passaic, and Warren counties. In Bergen, the municipalities include: Fair Lawn, Franklin Lakes, Glen Rock, Hillsdale, Mahwah, New Milford, Oakland, Oradell, Paramus, Ramsey, Ridgewood, River Edge, Teaneck, Township of Washington, Westwood, and Wyckoff.
