GR Girls Place in National Swim Meet

At the YMCA Long Course National Championship Meet, held last week at the Georgia Tech pool that hosted the 1996 Olympics, two teams featuring some Glen Rock girls placed in the Top 25.

The Wyckoff Sharks placed 12th overall and Ridgewood Breakers 35th out of the 121 YMCA teams entered from across the United States.

Sara Craft and Ali Folman are coached by Kathy Kallman and Francesco Peta on the Wyckoff YMCA Sharks.

Bridget Horton and Lauren Boos are coached by the Ridgewood YMCA Breakers's coach, Brian Hoffman.

"All four swimmers swim year round," Lori Craft, Sara's mother, said. "They qualified for this prestigious event by making fast qualifying times in their respective events."

Ali Folman, 17, representing Wyckoff YMCA Sharks, swam in 3 individual events.
This was Ali’s 3rd National Championship meet.
50 Breaststroke –37.54 - 72nd place
100 Breaststroke – 1:20.84 -80th place
200 Breaststroke –2:56.72 - 71st place

Lauren Boos, 13, Ridgewood Breakers, swam in 2 individual events.
This was Lauren’s 1st National Championship meet.
400 Freestyle – 4:43.34 - 55th place
1500 Freestyle – 18:24.83 – 30th place
