The Great Divide: America's Growing Income Inequality

Dr. Joseph E. Stiglitz will give a talk on America's Income Inequality

On May 11, 2015, Dr. Joseph E. Stiglitz, Nobel laureate and economist, will address growing income inequality in America and offer insights into this moral and political dilemma. He will appear at Bergen Community College, Technology Building, 400 Paramus Road, Paramus NJ from 7:30 to 9:00 pm. A question and answer period will follow the presentation.

Dr. Stiglitz is the author of the best-selling book, The Price of Inequality, and has written numerous works that have helped to shape global debates. He will introduce his latest book, The Great Divide, which further explores solutions to income inequality. He believes that the right policies can help America achieve both economic growth and fairness.

Dr. Stiglitz is now President of the International Economic Association. He teaches at Columbia University, and his previous academic credentials include Yale, Princeton, Stanford, and MIT. He is a columnist for the New York Times and Project Syndicate; he has also written for Vanity Fair, Politico, The Atlantic, and Harper’s.

The program will be moderated by Bruce Mizrach, Professor of Economics at Rutgers University. He has held appointments at Boston College, the Wharton School, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and NYU Stern. Mizrach is founder and editor of Studies in Nonlinear Dynamics and Econometrics.
