Hero's Welcomed Planned For Ridgewood Little League Team Today

Under 14 team is the first village baseball team to compete in a World Series in more than 30 years.

A welcome home celebration for the Ridgewood Junior League All-Star team will be held Monday.

The Ridgewood Raiders won the Junior Little League East Regional Championship and the team is competing in the Junior League Baseball World Series in Michigan. The Raiders are the village’s first baseball team to compete in a World Series in more than 30 years

The celebration will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at Van Neste Park.

The team will have a police escort down East Ridgewood Avenue to the park, where they will be greeted by Mayor Paul Aronsohn, the Village Council, and residents to commemorate their accomplishments.

Live music will be played and food will be served.
