How to Make Inside-Out Oreo Cookie Balls!

A delicious summer treat

I first encountered these treats during Finals week. I was in a sleep-deprived study-hurricane of stress when my friend returned from an office party bearing these treasures. This white chocolate-covered Oreo happiness gave me the strength to carry on, at least for another hour, and I’ve been craving them ever since. So here they are: Inside Out Oreo Cookie Balls, in all their greatness.

Ingredients: 1 package of Oreos, 1 container of cream cheese (8 oz.), and 1 package of white chocolate chips.

Blend the Oreos and the cream cheese together in a food processor, until smooth. You might have to stop and mash down the cookies a bit, mixing them into the cream cheese before they'll start to blend together.

Once smooth, scoop out enough to form 1-inch balls onto wax paper, and pop them into the fridge to chill.

I pulled mine out after a half hour to form them into smoother balls, and then left them in for another hour after that. They need to be extremely cold before you dip them in the hot white chocolate or else they’ll melt.

Meanwhile, I put my white chocolate chips into a small saucepan to melt. Be careful to keep them on extremely low heat, stirring the whole time or else they’ll burn. I added a dash of heavy cream to mine to thin it out.

Once the balls are cold enough, use either a toothpick or a dipping fork (I used a fondue fork) to dip them in the chocolate. It’s best to dip them quickly and give them a small twirl before putting them back onto the sheet or else they’ll melt into the hot chocolate (you can put down a fresh sheet of wax paper if you want the bottoms to remain white).

Put them back in the fridge and wait for the chocolate to harden, and then voila! Now you have a delicious summer treat to enjoy. I actually kept a small bowl of the fudgy-oreo goo. It’ll go nicely with some ice cream later tonight.
