Paramus striker Sarah Cortes scored her third goal of the game, this one coming in the first overtime to help the girls soccer team stun neighborhood rival Ridgewood, 3-2, on Tuesday night under the lights in Paramus.
Cortes put a shot to the right of Ridgewood goalie Olivia Shaw with 2:53 left in the first overtime. The victory kept the Lady Spartans undefeated at 5-0. .
In the win over Ridgewood, Cortes scored her first goal late in the first half to tie the game at one after the Lady Maroons took an early 1-0 lead. Her second goal came in the second half to give Paramus a 2-1 lead. Ridgewood though received a goal from Courtney Tarleton with a little less than four minutes in regulation to get the equalizer and send it into overtime.

In overtime, Paramus continued to put the pressure on the goalie before Cortes finally put away Ridgewood with a shot past Shaw to send the Spartan fans home happy.
Paramus will take on Ridgewood again later this fall as the Lady Spartans travel to Ridgewood on Oct. 21 (4 p.m.) in a rematch.
