Looking for Fun on a Tuesday Night? Try a Volleyball Class
The Glen Rock Community School volleyball classes are a great way to stay fit
John Maurus has been involved with volleyball at the Glen Rock Community School for more than a decade, and for him it's more than just another sport.
People of all ages from Glen Rock, Fair Lawn, North Haledon, North Bergen and all over play in the two Tuesday night classes, "and we've all become friends," said Maurus who runs the classes.
The Community School plays host to two indoor volleyball seasons — one from September to December and the other from January to April. Another separate outdoor session plays out in Saddle Brook in May.

Currently there are two classes meeting on Tuesday — an intermediate group that plays from 7 - 8:30 p.m. and an advanced group that meets from 8:30 - 10 p.m.
Maurus, who lives in Wanaque, said the classes usually have about 20-40 people each, run for about 12 weeks and cost $78. Participants must be over 18 years old.
