Man Sexually Assaulted Bergen County Child Over 3 Months: Prosecutor
A Garfield man was arrested for the alleged sexual assault of a child "on multiple occasions," said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A Garfield man was charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child last Friday, said Bergen County prosecutors.
Juan B. Sanchez, 52, of Garfield was taken to Bergen County Jail to await a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court.
Prosecutors said that last Friday, Hackensack University Medical Center contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual assault of a juvenile that had occurred in the past.

An investigation determined that Sanchez had sexually assaulted and endangered a juvenile in Garfield on "multiple occasions" between November 2024 and last month prosecutors said.
He was charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, prosecutors said.
