A Morning of Games & Activities Brings A School Community Together
HWCNS Students, Parents and Educators Gather on a Sunny October Day to Celebrate Autumn at Annual "Fall Fun Fair"
The children of The Ho-Ho-Kus Waldwick Cooperative Nursey School (“HWCNS”) recently had the opportunity to celebrate the Autumn season at the nursery school’s annual Fall Fun Fair. The gathering, which is a wonderful morning filled with games, crafts, face painting, apple bobbing and more, was held on the upper level of the Community Church of Ho-Ho-Kus.
The Fall Fun Fair, a long-established event, provides HWCNS with a great sense of community, kicking off the calendar of events which the school hosts each year. Parents get to know one another and see their kids interacting with others.
Parents, teachers and aides also joined in on the fun by watching the kids hop station-to-station winning prizes and donning smiles. Local Bergen County vendors including Kami Hats, Likely, Rodan + Fields, Thirty-one and The Shameless Baker were onsite as well. Ten percent of proceeds from each vendor was given back to HWCNS to fund the school’s enrichment programs – it was a win-win for all!

“We were simply delighted at how well our fair turned out this year. Kids running around with happy, painted faces carrying bags of prizes was certainly a lovely sight,” cited Susan Blattner, Trustee and 2015 Board President for HWCNS. Nancy Fiore, current Board President added, “We could not have pulled off such a great event without the entire HWCNS community joining together. The cohesion that exists at our nursery school is unparalleled and I am thrilled with the event’s success!”
Barbara Lerche, founder and owner of The Shameless Baker noted that HWCNS “has a really nice group of families,” and Jackie Derr of Rodan + Fields added, “my family and I had a great time at the event and I was most pleased about the exposure for R+F.”
