New Jersey: You Could Wake Up To Snow, Sleet And/Or Strong Winds

The National Weather Service has issued advisories for almost the whole state, saying snow, sleet and/or strong winds will hit New Jersey.

The National Weather Service has issued advisories for almost the whole state, saying snow, sleet and/or strong winds were hitting New Jersey overnight.

Wind advisories were issued for almost the entire state, saying New Jersey should expect 50 mph wind gusts into Sunday. But alerts were also issued for Sussex, Hunterdon, Warren, Middlesex, Somerset, Mercer, Burlington, Camden, South Jersey and Jersey Shore counties, saying that snow or sleet will be covering roads and cars overnight.

Here is the general forecast for Sunday morning and night

Overnight, Sunday morning: Rain showers, snow showers, and sleet before 3 a.m., then a chance of rain and snow showers. Low around 36. West wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. Total nighttime snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Sunday: A slight chance of rain and snow showers before 11 a.m., then a slight chance of rain showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 44. Windy, with a west wind 13 to 18 mph increasing to 24 to 29 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 46 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Sunday night: A slight chance of rain showers, mixing with snow after 8pm, then gradually ending. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 33. Windy, with a west wind 21 to 26 mph, with gusts as high as 46 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
