New Officer Joins Glen Rock Police Department

A new police officer who has joined the Glen Rock Police Department was the top-scoring candidate in the hiring process.

GLEN ROCK, NJ — A new police officer who has joined the Glen Rock Police Department was the top-scoring candidate in the hiring process.

Police Officer Andrew Magro was the top scorer among 150 applicants, the GRPD said. Magro and his family were present at a swearing-in Jan 7.

Candidates wishing to join the department took a written exam, a physical agility test, and an interview with the command board before several other interviews, the department said.

Magro was formerly a dispatcher with the Allendale Police Department. He will enter the Bergen County Police Academy and be officially sworn in after he graduates.

Magro replaces an officer who left the department in early 2021.
