Noted Scientists Speak At Ridgewood High School

Dr. David Coward helped discover quarks, subatomic particles and Dr. Same Rhine is a renowned geneticist.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Two eminent scientists lectured at Ridgewood High School recently.

Dr. David Coward spoke to students Friday. He is physicist emeritus at Stanford University and a member of the Ridgewood High School Class of 1952.

Coward collaborated with the team of scientists on work that led to the discovery of quarks in 1968.

Dr. Sam Rhine, a geneticist, spoke to Advanced Placement Biology and Genetics and Biotechnology students Thursday.

Rhine has been educating students throughout the United States about the newest developments in genetic therapies.
