BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Do you want to build a snowman? When then Tuesday morning snowstorm ended around noon, many towns in the county reported accumulations of more than 8 inches.

And with so many Bergen County schools closed, kids had plenty of time to build snowmen.

Here are the totals that spotters reported to the National Weather Service on Tuesday afternoon:

  • River Vale, 9.8 inches, reported at 12:57 p.m.
  • Franklin Lakes, 9.1, 11:38 a.m.
  • Waldwick, 9.0, 1:50 p.m.
  • Westwood, 8.3, 12 p.m.
  • Bergenfield, 8.1, 12:35 p.m.
  • Mahwah, 8.0, 1:25 p.m.
  • Fair Lawn, 7.0, 3:15 p.m.
  • Lyndhurst, 6.5, 1:10 p.m.
  • Rutherford, 5.5, 12:30 p.m.

When's The Next Snowfall?

Winter's not over yet. Temperatures were expected to drop to 21 degrees overnight on Wednesday.

Light snow is possible on two different days this week, the NWS said.

There's a 40 percent "chance of rain and snow showers between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m." overnight on Thursday. There's also a 50 percent chance of snow before 2 p.m. Saturday, but skies will gradually become sunny, the NWS says. The rest of the weekend will be clear with temperatures in the 30s.
