PEARL RIVER FARMERS' MARKET - FRIDAY, AUGUST 7TH
It's National Farmers' Market week and we need your help! Shop for fresh local produce, honey, pickles, breads, salsa, spices, soaps, lunch.
Hello from the Pearl River Farmers’ Market! If you’ve been able to attend in recent weeks, you’ve seen our farmers’ stands exploding with seasonal produce.
It’s enough to get you excited about eating vegetables again! We have plenty of free recipes at our market table to help you prepare a healthy and quick summer meal from our exceptional produce. You can also find a wide variety of baked goods, preserves, pickles, fresh mozzarella and crafts. This week, our guest vendors will include Hudson Vally Pantry with unique preserves, salsas and BBQ sauces, and Ol’ Darlin soaps and salves - hand crafted with essential oils right here in Rockland County.
As you may have seen in our Facebook posts, we are counting attendance each week during August to determine if there will be a third year. If having a market is important to you, we need your support! We had great attendance both seasons on opening day and then saw crowds dwindle with summer vacations; please help us by spreading the word to neighbors that may not have internet access. Please consider buying even a portion of your weekly produce at the market; during this peak season many prices are comparable to large grocery chains, and the freshness and quality is measurably better than produce shipped internationally and stored for weeks at a time. We have many volunteer opportunities available, if you have time to give; even an hour sitting at our market table or helping with children’s activities can make a difference.

Without your support, the market WILL go away; we cannot consider expanding to a more central location, or switching to a weekend day, without more community support. Thank you to everyone who has supported the market in any way thus far - you helped make it a great first year and we hope to be able to expand and thrive in the years to come. See you tomorrow, 10-4 at The River, 253 Ehrhardt Road, (church parking lot)
Best wishes,
