Pedestrian Critical After Being Struck By SUV In Bergen County: Police

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A pedestrian was hospitalized on Sunday after being struck by an SUV at a Bergen County intersection, said police.

The man, 51, from Hackensack, was struck by an SUV around 12:30 a.m. at Central Avenue and Second Street, said Deputy Police Chief Gregory Zisa.

He had serious injuries to his head, hip, and torso, Zisa said.

He remained hospitalized in critical but stable condition, Zisa said Monday morning.

The driver, 34, from Hackensack, stayed at the scene. He was cooperating with police, Zisa said.

No summonses were issued as of Monday morning, but police were still investigating.
