Police To Residents: Stop Taking Down Street Signs

Removing signs creates a danger to the public, police said.

The Ridgewood Police Department is asking residents not to remove street signs, including traffic signs, from roadways.

During the spring, numerous signs have been removed from village roadways

In addition to being both a nuisance and financial burden, the removal of these signs creates a danger to the public, police said.

Residents are asked to refrain from taking these signs and to report to police any sign stealing they witness by calling 201-251-4537
