Police: Ridgewood School Custodian Had 'Inappropriate Contact' With Student
Paterson man charged with endangering the welfare of a child, police reported.

A school custodian was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, police said.
On Thursday, an administrator at Benjamin Franklin Middle School reported a custodian at the school had “inappropriate contact” with a student during an after school program, authorities said.
The custodian, Anthony E. Griffiths, 52, was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

Griffiths, of Paterson, was unable to post $30,000 bail and was remanded to the Bergen County Jail, police said.
Ridgewood police detectives began investigating Griffiths soon after his alleged victim, a 12- to 14-year-old girl, told her parents about the ”inappropriate physical interaction,” NorthJersey.com reported.

Police officials told the website that the interaction “did not rise to the level of a sexual assault,” the website reported.
