Class of 2021's Ethan Cronk has pledged his faceoff win percentage this season to the HEADStrong Foundation. Ethan Cronk, a junior at Ridgewood High School and faceoff specialist for the varsity lacrosse team, is raising funds for families affected by cancer. Cronk is currently at the top of the leaderboard for the HEADStrong Foundation’s 2020 Faceoff Against Cancer Challenge, a national program through which lacrosse players can pledge their performance statistics to help families in need. He is currently at 83 percent of his goal to raise $2,500 before the first preseason game against Bridgewater-Raritan on March 18. Under the 2020 Faceoff Against Cancer Challenge, supporters can either give a flat donation or pledge a dollar amount per faceoff: https://pledgeit.org/ethan-cronk-2020-faceoff-against-cancer-challenge. A faceoff is the method used to begin and restart play after goals, with teams vying for ball possession. “One of my club lacrosse teammates was diagnosed with bone cancer a few years ago, and that’s when I first learned about HEADStrong,” explained Cronk. “They’re doing amazing things to support families and this fundraiser is a great way to raise awareness for them.” HEADstrong Foundation is a charitable 501c3, committed to improving the quality of life for those affected by cancer.
