Ridgewood 8U Baseball Team Wins the NJSBL Championship!

Ridgewood 8 year old boys fight hard to win the North Jersey Suburban League American Division Championship!

After a tough summer season with a 3-6 record and a lot of very close games, Ridgewood 8 year old boys came into the playoffs a big underdog but determined to keep fighting. They beat Oakland 13-0 in the first playoff game, Paramus 5-3 in the second game and finally Wyckoff in a nail bitter of a championship game 5-4. Ridgewood boys never gave up and fought hard until the very end. Gavin Ackley, Jack Carucci, Justin Scali, and Jax Monte each collected critical hits to lead Ridgewood to 5 runs. Gavin Ackley, Kyle Bagnaturo, Jax Monte and Joe Buonora pitching exceptional the whole game holding Wyckoff to only 4 runs. Down to the final inning and Ridgewood has a 5-4 lead... a hit back to the pitcher Joe Buonora who fields the ball and fires it home to Trey Scali who puts down the tag for an amazing first out! A strikeout for the second out, a walk and now leading by only 1 run with bases loaded and a full count and pitcher Joe Buonora seals the deal with a strike to win the championship! What a game! Coaches Ackley and Scali are so very proud of the boys for never giving up and fighting hard to the very end!!
