Ridgewood Crime Falls by 30 Percent, Study Finds

Simple assaults also decreased by almost 57 percent.

New data by New Jersey’s Department of Law and Public Safety shows crime in Ridgewood is declining.

Non-violent crime in Ridgewood from January to June of 2014 declined by 30 percent - from 97 incidents last year to 69 this year, NorthJersey.com reported.

The town also saw a 56.9 percent decline in simple assaults, a 25 percent decline in larceny and a 45 percent decrease in burglaries.

This matches the overall trend for the state, with total crime decreasing by 12.6 percent in New Jersey.
