Ridgewood Educators Receive Prestigious Awards At Convocation
Ann Brown and Pat Kowalczyk receive awards.

Two Ridgewood educators received awards at the annual convocation ceremony recently.
Ann Brown received the Ashby Award. Brown is a media specialist at the George Washington Middle School library, a position she has held since 2001.
Brown has a master’s degree in Library and Information Science from Long Island University.

The Ashby Award was established in 1966 to honor former Superintendent Lloyd Ashby and his wife, Lois, for their service to the community. The award is the most prestigious award given to a Ridgewood staff member. The annual recipient is selected from nominees submitted by staff members.
Pat Kowalczyk received the Tradition in Excellence Award for Support Staff. Kowalczyk is an administrative assistant in the Office of Special Programs.

The award was established last year to honor a member of the support staff who has made “an outstanding contribution” to the excellence of Ridgewood schools.
