Good schools and safe neighborhoods make Ridgewood and Glen Rock among the best places to live in the Garden State, a study from Niche says.

RIDGEWOOD-GLEN ROCK, NJ — Good schools and safe neighborhoods make Ridgewood and Glen Rock among the best places to live in the Garden State, according to the website Niche.
In these rankings, Ridgewood is ranked third in the state and Glen Rock ninth.
Niche is a website that provides people with neighborhood rankings for schools, crime, walkability, and more. Users are able to submit reviews and data about their town, city, suburb, or county.

Ridgewood has an A+ rating in the Public Schools, Health & Fitness, and Good for Families categories, and scored high in Outdoor Activities, Jobs, and Nightlife.
Ridgewood is also the second-best New Jersey suburb to live in, and the fifth-best suburb to raise a family in New Jersey, according to Niche rankings. It's also in the top 100 places to live in the U.S., according to Niche's newly-released Best Places to Live in America list.

Residents praised Ridgewood's downtown, available medical care, community, and schools in some top Niche reviews.
Glen Rock also has an A+ rating in the Public Schools, Health & Fitness, and Good for Families categories, and scored high in Outdoor Activities, Housing, Crime & Safety, Jobs, and Nightlife.
Glen Rock is ranked sixth in Niche's "Best Suburbs to Buy a House in New Jersey" and "Best Suburbs to Live in New Jersey" categories, and is the eighth-best place to buy a house. It's also also in the top 200 places to live in the U.S.
Residents said they liked Glen Rock's parks, public services, access to transportation, and community activities.
Niche creates the annual rankings "by using data from the U.S. Census, FBI, BLS, and CDC combined with millions of resident reviews," the company said. "The company considers factors such as affordability, the local housing market, neighborhood diversity, area public schools, walkability, and more."
