Ridgewood High School Graduation Rate: State Releases 2015 Totals

RIDGEWOOD, NJ – The percentage of village students who earned their high school diplomas in the past four years has remained extremely high data released by the state shows.

Here are the Ridgewood High School graduation rates for the previous four years.

2015: 97.42

2014: 97.89

2013: 97.11

2012: 96.77

The New Jersey Department of Education released the latest graduation rate totals Wednesday. The statewide graduation rate increased to 89.7 percent in 2015 from 88.6 percent in 2014.

It is the fourth consecutive year that New Jersey’s high graduation rate has increased and the third consecutive year in which it grew by at least a full percentage point, the DOE said in a news release.

“The graduation rate is defined as the percent of students who graduated from secondary school with a regular diploma in the standard number of years, which in most cases is four, but could be three or two,” the DOE states on its website.

“Students who graduate in less than four years are counted with the students in their assigned four-year cohort, not in the year when they actually graduate,” the website explains. “Students who have dropped out of school and undocumented transfers must remain in the cohort number but will not count as graduates.”
